About the firm

Union Asset Law Firm advises individuals, housing estate and condominium juristic persons, and companies on Thai law. Our work centres on land and property, housing estates and condominiums, consumer cases, contracts and employment. We give advice and represent clients in civil, criminal and administrative cases connected to this work.

How the firm began

The firm's founder, Paitoon Uerkittaropakorn, became involved in housing estate law in 2006, after buying a house in a premium housing estate.

Residents found problems with how the estate's common utilities had been built, and he and his neighbours took legal action against the developer. The developer responded with criminal and civil cases against residents, including him. Those cases were dismissed by the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal.

While the cases were under way, he studied law at Ramkhamhaeng University and completed his Bachelor of Laws in just over three years.

He and seven neighbours then set up the estate's housing estate juristic person, with the support of the large majority of members at the general meeting, and adopted bylaws drafted by the members. He was elected to the committee and has handled the estate's legal work since.

The juristic person later sued the developer over the maintenance fund and the common utilities, and the developer was ordered to pay compensation. For that case he gathered records from government agencies, including the construction blueprints, and consulted engineering and land allocation specialists. That work gave him a detailed understanding of land allocation law in practice.

In 2022 he founded Union Asset Law Firm to advise and represent others facing similar problems.
